A Life of Making it Better
The shop owner sees a kid has taken apart a 100-year-old arcade toy. She asked what he was doing. “It wasn’t working”, he said. “But it never has.” she replied. He closed the lid and said, “Try it now.” The kid had fixed it.
That kid was me. On the farm, in the house, at the little church, camping, working in construction to get through school… you learn to make things work using what’s at hand. Those values, that knowledge: they last.
Your home should work, too. I have the ability and value system to help with that. I still love making things better. Broken? Let’s get it fixed. Dangerous? Let’s make it safe. Wiggly or loose? Let’s get it solid. Fragile? Let’s protect it. Of value? Let’s restore it. Just plain run down? Let’s make it like new. Wacky, funky idea? I love it! Old and worthless? Not if I can help it!
